Center for Neuro & Trauma Rehabilitation
Life-Saving Care ... Closer to Home
Penrose-St Francis Rehabilitation is rooted in a tradition of competency and caring. Our services span the spectrum from acute intervention through outpatient support and reintegration into home, work and community settings. A multi-disciplinary team backed by exemplary medical professionals helps patients reach individual goals in a compassionate, caring climate. Services are located at both Penrose Hospital, a Level II Trauma Center, and St. Francis Medical Center, a Level IV Trauma Center, in central and northeast Colorado Springs and are affiliated with Centura Health.
When a loved one suffers an accident, stroke or traumatic injury, seconds count. The center is your closest link to life-saving interventions that lead to long-term recovery. Located at Penrose Hospital, the Center for Neuro & Trauma Rehabilitation (CNTR) and Level II Trauma Center is easily accessible to communities and rural areas in southern Colorado. The center takes a multi-disciplinary approach that treats the patient from time of injury through emergent and acute care into specialized rehabilitation, with expanded capabilities for brain injured, spinal cord, multi-trauma and stroke patients. The Center is equipped to handle patients in southern Colorado who need urgent medical intervention, and follow them through their treatment all the way back to home, community and work. Because the Center is hospital-based, specialists in trauma, neurology, neurosurgery, internal medicine and other related fields provide consultation 24 hours a day. Access to the hospital's diagnostic and treatment resources often eliminates the need for transfer elsewhere for complex conditions.
A New Standard for Specialized Care for Injuries of the Brain, Spinal Cord & Stroke
An energetic team of rehabilitation professionals design a plan to maximize each patient's recovery capability. Physiatrists (doctors who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation), nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists, psychologists, case managers and others pool their expertise on behalf of each individual. Physicians on staff are highly credentialed experts in spinal cord, stroke and brain injury care. Our team of professionals applies specialized training in stroke, brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation, backed by top-of-the-line technology. Therapists and nurses are dedicated caregivers who offer compassion and sensitivity to patients and their families, often bringing over 20 years of experience to our patients.
