  Dr. Roland Baiza was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Having been raised in a Hispanic community, Dr. Baiza is bilingual in English and Spanish.  He joined Academy Women’s Healthcare Associates in 2002 and feels blessed to have the additional ability to serve those in the Spanish-speaking community.
  
  Through a college basketball scholarship, Dr. Baiza attended The university of Incarnate Word. He graduated Texas A&M Med School (1994) and went on to be an assistant professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center (1998-2002). He was APGO-Texas Med School teacher of the year in 2002.
  
  Dr. Baiza knew he wanted to practice medicine when he was just 10 years old. He says it is a blessing from the Lord and an honor to care for patients. He understands the trust women place in him during some of the most special and challenging times of life–from pregnancy and childbirth to menopause and gynecological surgeries. He wants every patient to feel assured that they are given the best care available and that he will take the time to listen to them.
  
  Dr. Baiza is most proud of his marriage (since 1992) and school-age children, Reagan and Lauren. His main interests are Bible study, laughing and dining with friends and family, and playing sports of all kinds, especially basketball, skiing, and golf. He attends Grace Bible Church and serves actively in the teaching ministry.
