Glen House, M.D. Medical Director and Doctor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Dr. J. Glen House joined the Penrose-St. Francis Rehabilitation team in 2001, after completing a fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. Dr. House completed his residency and served as chief resident at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Assuming the role of Medical Director in January, 2003, Dr. House is an expert in rehabilitation of spinal cord injury and brain injury. His own personal recovery from a spinal cord injury suffered in a ski accident in 1990 is an inspiration to his patients and provides instant credibility to those struggling to piece their lives back together.
Pio I. Guerrero, Jr., M.D. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Dr. Guerrero joined the Penrose-St. Francis Rehabilitation team in 2006. He went to medical school at the University of the Philippines and then went on to do his internship with Evanston Hospital, a part of the Northwestern University system in Illinois. After completing his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Dr. Guerrero specialized in Musculoskeletal, Occupation, and Sports Medicine at the University of Texas, in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona with Dr. Andrew Weil, and in Medical Acupuncture at UCLA. He is Board Certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine.
Dr. Guerrero is known for his work with neuromusculoskeletal problems and holistic integrative approaches that maximize function and minimize symptoms. Dr. Guerrero loves to teach, is very approachable, and his cheerfulness touches the hearts of patients and staff as well.
