Critical Care Unit

Centura Image

Previously called the ICU or Intensive Care Unit, the new state-of-the-art Critical Care Unit is now housed on the 2nd Floor of the E Tower. The Critical Care Unit offers the best of recent technology and design to enhance and advance the care of our patients.

Housing 27 private patient rooms, this new is double the size of the previous unit. Each room has a Hill-Rom hydraulic boom - a suspended, movable column outfitted with essential tools and equipment like suction and oxygen hookups. This allows medical staff to have better access to treat patients and gives them the option of moving the patient about the room.

The rooms are also equipped with Hill-Rom Sports beds capable of delivering continuous lateral rotation therapy, along with vibration and percussion therapies, which can be programmed to meet specific patients' needs.

Computer access for nurses and other patient caregivers is available between every two rooms which allows for easier charting, notation of physician orders and communication with the patient’s physician. This unit is locked for added security. Visitors must check in at the front desk.

On the floor is the family waiting area with coffee and snack machines, comfortable seating, television, and a view of the waterfalls in the new courtyard.
