Jameson Smith
Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, Penrose-St. Francis Health Services

Jamie joined Penrose-St. Francis in 2008 and served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. Prior to coming to Centura Health, Jamie spent five years in hospital management with Tenet Healthcare as Vice President of Operations at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, North Carolina, and Associate Administrator at Atlanta Medical Center. He began his career in health care as a Medical Service Corps officer in the U.S. Army.  He served four years active duty, including two years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington D.C., and two years in the 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

In his current role, he provides operational oversight for both Penrose Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center, while continuing to directly oversee the Cardiovascular Services, Oncology and Rehab service lines. Jamie develops strategies and operational plans to enhance patient care and grow market share within the Penrose-St. Francis markets.

Jamie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.  He is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
