Joint Conditions We Treat

With more than 200 joints there are a number of conditions that effect these important junctions in human body. The orthopedic surgeons at the Penrose St. Francis Total Joint and Spine Center are experts in their field with 100% of the surgeons board certified or board eligible. The most common joint conditions we treat are:

  • Osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) - Osteoarthritis is a condition where the cartilage located around your joints breaks down.
  • Osteonecrosis of joint Osteonecrosis is a condition where lack of blood supply to the bone causes bone death.  Osteonecrosis can affect any joint but is more common in the hip and shoulder. 
  • Rheumatoid arthritis - Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic long term disease that causes inflammation of the joints and may affect other organs in your body.
  • Shoulder, hip or knee pain
  • Joint defects presented at birth
