Penrose Hospital began serving the medical community with cytogenetic analyses in 1962. In 1982, Cytogenetics became an independent department and expanded its services to include analysis of hematopoietic disorders and other malignancies. With the addition of Flow Cytometry in 1989 and Molecular Pathology in 1993, we now offer these combined services under the name Penrose-St. Francis Cytogenetics/Immunopathology.
