Mission Outreach & Faith Community Nursing
Faith Community Nurses (FCN) at Penrose-St. Francis Health Services work to fulfill the mission of Centura Health to "extend the healing ministry of Christ by caring for the ill and nurturing the health of the people in our community." A FCN is a registered professional nurse (RN) recognized for specialty practice through the American Nursing Association.
The areas of practice include the following:
These clinics reach into vulnerable and disparate populations with childhood and adult immunization clinics, adult health risk assessments and one volunteer provider clinic.
Community Network of Caring (CNC)
The CNC is a collaboration of PSF and five community crisis sites. PSF provides a FCN at these five sites to assist clients who are under/uninsured with health related issues. These nurses can help the clients navigate the maze of health care issues as well as nursing clinic services.
Community Faith and Health Ministry
PSF facilitates a network of churches/congregations and ministries in the Pikes Peak area to educate and support the integration of faith and health. This includes parish or pastoral nursing as well as the specialty faith community nurse model.
