Dr. Brown has been the Chief Medical Executive for Centura Health since 2008 providing executive leadership to CMO’s for 13 hospitals, senior care and home care and participates on the Centura Health Executive Counsel. and will continue to serve in that role while changing delegation of certain responsibilities as the CMO for St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center. Dr. Brown is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and overall operational management of physician services and medical staff administration for the Group. He develops strategic plans and policies that align and empower synergies within the Group as well as address operational issues that build effective relationships between the SSOG entities, within each facility, their medical staffs and regional physicians who might use the Group facilities for patient care services.
Dr. Brown began his career with the Centura Health network in 2000 when he joined St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo as the CMO and Vice President of Medical Affairs. His education includes a B.A. and M.D. from University of Missouri, Columbia, where he graduated with top honors. Dr. Brown completed his education at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and is also board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and is a Clinical Hypertension Specialist. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a professor of clinical medicine at University of Colorado. He has served on many hospital committees and has memberships in countless professional and scientific societies. His work has been published in both articles and books with the list being virtually endless. He continues to provide teaching for the Southern Colorado Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center.
