The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery.  
Physicians with this symbol,, have met the stringent demands set forth by the ASMBS allowing Penrose-St. Francis Health Services to become southern Colorado's only Accredited Center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.
