Teen Volunteer Application

ACT FAST!

Session are due May 15, 2013!

Thank you for considering Penrose-St. Francis Health Services for your volunteer service. We look forward to working with you. Volunteering is rewarding and fun, but demands a significant service-based commitment on your part. At Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, our patients, visitors and staff benefit greatly when volunteers serve on a regular, long-term basis. Therefore, Penrose-St. Francis Health Services volunteers are asked to commit to a regular (usually, weekly) schedule of shifts which are typically four hours in length. In considering your desire to volunteer, it is very important to evaluate your schedule and the required time commitment to make sure you can fulfill all the requirements. We recognize that you have a choice of where you volunteer, thank you for choosing us!

Step 3: Attend a Volunteer Orientation

Once your application has been accepted and you have completed the learning modules, you will be contacted and invited to an orientation. Due to the uniqueness of volunteering in a hospital including the commitment level and regulatory guidelines to which volunteers must adhere, all prospective volunteers, except knitters, are required to attend a volunteer orientation. When you attend an orientation, you will meet staff from Penrose-St. Francis Volunteer Services Department, hear more about volunteer opportunities and ask questions about the process.

At the volunteer orientation, we will review the requirements of volunteers and give you examples of area openings and volunteer program availability. Because of the potential for exposure to confidential information which may be obtained directly or indirectly concerning patients, doctors or personnel, all adult applicants, except knitters, is required to undergo a background check.

The Volunteer Services Department reserves the right to decline any application. If you have any questions with the application process, please feel free to contact us at 719-776-5315.
