• Penrose Hospital Level II Trauma Center

  • Level II Trauma at Penrose  As part our commitment to the community, Penrose Hospital is a designated Level II Trauma Center. Our four-room Level II Trauma Center provides comprehensive trauma services around-the-clock for individuals 16 years and older that require immediate treatment for complex, life-threatening emergencies. Our team of trauma physicians, surgeons, specially trained nurses and other medical professionals respond immediately to each patient by meeting them at the door. Last year we treated nearly 1,000 trauma patients.

A Level II designation means that at Penrose Hospital we provide a comprehensive level of trauma care for acute patients including 24-hour access to surgeons (within 15 minutes or less), specialists and in-house anesthesia. As part of Colorado's largest trauma system, Penrose-St. Francis has access to Centura Health's Trauma System's emergency and trauma resources including Flight For Life® Colorado.
